can you hear the stinging whispers of those sapling spirits? as they march across the now bare forest? still slender, green, but angry and tired the ground has turned too fast for their roots to hold on so they dip their toes in the stream and run like children across meadows and they march counterclockwise over the dry earth in love and triumph the seasons turn too fast and worlds flicker by my window and my roots cling onto rotting floorboards but now I hear it : the whistling wind that is caught in their hair as they march by my window the young and restless forest gods and I rip my roots from the silent dust and march with them in triumph and love and I rip my roots from the silent dust and march with them in triumph and love ~~~ snow flies up from the heavy sky to touch the longing of the earth the earth blows kisses to the sky with wind that whirls like dancing lovers particles of desire linger in the air and soar in waves between the tundra and the clouds storm almost thick enough to hold them together the earth and sky almost embrace the earth and sky almost embrace

ah, okay. well, keep that. oh, too late. yeah, too late. we gotta keep that! oh, too late. maraca throw. that's what we got as our intro to this song! yeah! Aging towards the end of my life Lovely words that I cannot write I should be upset that you're gone but I'm not Cause my feelings are swallowed alive by my thoughts even the crickets won't chirp at your sermons and even the cats won't purr at your feet I wish I was clever and noble like you but instead I just lie on my back in the street Pavement rots and street signs are lost I wish my skin was as thick, as thick as the frost I'm an elitist with low self-esteem and my passionless passions don't know when to leave Everything else is submerged in a swamp when I suddenly find they're all on my sleeve I feel so weighed down that I fall when I fly and i land on my back looking up to the sky and he winter is coming; i wish i could cry But my tears are now freezing themselves in my eyes Pavement rots and street signs are lost I wish my skin was as thick, as thick as the frost pavement rots and street signs are lost I wish my skin was as thick, as thick as the frost (flute interlude) Pavement rots and street signs are lost I wish that my skin was as thick, as thick as the frost pavement rots and street signs are lost I wish that my skin was as thick, as thick as the frost

Equinox 05:56
every week i find a new doodad that was sittin underneath my couch since last summer but it's broken cause it got crushed by all the spare change that had filtered under but it's ok, cause i know that you like all kinds of broken gizmos so i put it in a box and i gave to you, hope you like it walking down the road and watchin all the leaves that are fallin from the trees and hoping they're ok cause winter can be long and winter can be cold and i know that most trees are really old but it's ok cause i know that you like the air and you like the snow, so my apologies trees, but winter can come when it pleases talked to a willow and a larch and a firn and i asked them what is new brothers oh brother, not much new today, but apparently we are not here to stay but it's ok, cause i know that there will be more trees to grow and i think we will be fine for a few more decades talked to a maple and a birch and an oak and i asked them brothers is this some sick joke? it appears that no one will talk to me, they said oh brother there is always we and it's ok, cause you know that we will always be here for you that's true, i thank mother earth and her sister nature there's ozone in the air, it's gonna rain but who cares the moon just broke her stride, but she stopped to smile there's ozone in the air, the fireflies wait and stare i catch one in my palm, he kisses me, and then is gone guess what's comin, it's the equinox when the sun is yielding its grip upon the earth and its like a big battle for night and day when both sides are fighting for all they're worth but it's ok, cause i know, that this happens twice every single year but i guess that doesn't keep it from being your single greatest fear i'm all fed up with the same old people givin same old orders bout what we're not to do but you didn't hear me say to go away because the rhythms were killing me but it's ok, cause i know that you were just being a really big jerk but when you're down and out we'll try our hardest not to smirk (ozone) there's ozone in the air, (raincloud) it's gonna rain but who cares (moonchild) the moon just broke her stride, (bigsmile) but she stopped to smile (ozone) there's ozone in the air, (fireflies) the fireflies wait and stare (catch one) i catch one in my palm, (kiss me) he kisses me, and then is gone walking down the road and watchin all the leaves that are fallin from the trees and hoping they're ok cause winter can be long and winter can be cold and i know that most trees are really old but it's ok cause i know that you like the air and you like the snow, so my apologies trees, but winter can come when it pleases ! (ozone) there's ozone in the air, (raincloud) it's gonna rain but who cares (moonchild) the moon just broke her stride, (bigsmile) but she stopped to smile (ozone) there's ozone in the air, (fireflies) the fireflies wait and stare (catch one) i catch one in my palm, (kiss me) he kisses me, and then is gone (ozone) there's ozone in the air, (raincloud) it's gonna rain but who cares (moonchild) the moon just broke her stride, (bigsmile) but she stopped to smile (ozone) there's ozone in the air, (fireflies) the fireflies wait and stare (catch one) i catch one in my palm, (kiss me) he kisses me, and then

the spoken word of the maple tree it casts a shadow over me i cannot see past the fields past the orchards past the trees past the sky that even you, right now, could be looking at oh that sky that sky which brings us rain and sun that lets us grow as do we. i asked you can you open this jar you replied i can try real hard but if i don't succeed don't get mad at me inside the jar there is a maple seed we can plant it and watch it grow to a tree if it does not grow i hope you know it is a sign that we are meant to be the forest, i'm thinking, won't last through the day the forest, i'm thinking, won't last through the day the forest, i'm thinking, won't last through the day the forest, i'm thinking, won't last through the day (the maple seed will only grow in fall it does not grow in spring nor winter or summer maple seed, maple seed, won't you grow with her and me and us, we'll grow we'll grow, we'll grow) won't last won't last

about

"A collection of awkwardly performed lo-fi pop songs."

This album was recorded in GarageBand throughout 2008 and into 2009, almost exclusively utilizing the built-in microphone of Steven's sister's MacBook. At some point we realized that there was probably a limit to the amount of music that can fit on a CD, so we cut it off at 80 minutes. Much of what the members of this group are doing today (musically speaking) is directly influenced by the collaboration inherent to the creation of this album. That being said, it's completely ridiculous. In honor of it turning 5 this year, we're making it permanently free.
